A pleasure! My name is Platina Berlitz. I've never been to the Unova region, though I'd like to someday!

You should sometime--Unova has quite a wonderful taste of variety to it in comparison to the other regions, though I suppose that's my own personal bias speaking. I haven't been to Sinnoh yet myself, but I've heard some good things about it, so I'll be sure to consider traveling there someday too.

I've searched through most of the forest, and a little along the rivers where I think empoleon would have liked to visit. Now I'm not sure where else to look.

Hmm...have you tried looking around by the shops? They have a fountain there that your Empoleon may have stopped by at.

A fountain sounds promising! Then, let's try that!

Yes, of course! In addition to being a Pokemon Connoisseur, I'm also one of the Gym Leaders of Striaton City in the Unova region.

A gym leader! I see! But I'm not sure what a Pokemon Connoisseur may be.

[THAT'S BECAUSE IT IS CLASSY AND--oh no this means it's explanation time...]

The task of a Pokemon Connoisseur is to taste the skills of a Trainer and their Pokemon, and form compatibility diagnoses on how one might improve their abilities as a Trainer and fully bring out the greatest flavors of their Pokemon. This can be done either through analyzing a person's strengths in battle, or even giving advice on move choices and raising methods as well as advice for new trainers that are unsure of which Pokemon is best suited for them as their "starter" Pokemon.

I had no idea compatibility could be tasted like that. But... I've actually met a man during my travels that could do something like that by analyzing the footprints of a pokemon. Perhaps it's similar!

Really? That ability sounds like it has quite an interesting taste--I don't think I've met anyone who was able to do that in Unova yet.
